BUSINESS
INVESTMENT APPROACH
Unlocking the boundless potential of companies through the accumulation of trust and the highest level of wisdom.
Integral Corporation will make long-term equity investments based on a relationship of deep trust with management, befitting our mission as a "Trusted Investor." We will share the same objectives and time horizon as the management of invested companies, and provide support in both managerial and financial areas.
-
APPROACH 01
Undertake equity investments in both public and private markets. Invest in various "equity type" instruments including common stock, convertible preferred shares, convertible bonds and stock options.
-
APPROACH 02
Pursue a broad range of investment alternatives, from 100% acquisitions in MBO/LBOs to minority investments.
-
APPROACH 03
No set focus on particular industries.
STRENGTHS
Strength 01
Full On-site Support by Our In-house Professionals (i-Engine)
- To enhance the corporate value of our investee companies, we provide a program called "i-Engine." Depending on the company's needs, our in-house professionals work on-site, literally "sweating together" with the management team to execute various initiatives.
- This support--working closely not only with the back office but also with those on the front lines of sales and business development--is a core strength of Integral. It is highly valued by our investee companies, especially those facing a shortage of personnel to drive corporate reform.
Strength 02
DII, Deal Inducing Investment
- Integral Group combines fund investment with principal investment using our own capital.
- Our principal investment model was created to mirror the commitment of Japanese management teams who prioritize long-term growth.
- Our principal investments, funded by proprietary capital, differ from fund investments in that they are not subject to time limitations, allowing us to provide support to investee companies across an ultra-long-term time horizon.
For investee companies choosing to go public (IPO), this model offers significant advantages, such as stabilizing the shareholder base after listing.
DX
DX Support: Maximizing Corporate Value for Investee Companies
We view Digital Transformation (DX) as a critical management theme to achieve sustainable growth for our investee companies. Our goal goes beyond the mere implementation of IT tools; we focus on maximizing corporate value by evolving business models and improving profitability through digital technology.
Our DX Promotion Office, established in 2022, provides flexible support tailored to each company's needs and management challenges--from strategy formulation to the completion of implementation. By leveraging our accumulated DX expertise and a network of external specialists, the on-site i-Engine members commit as partners to accelerate the "speed of transformation."
Features of Integral's DX Support
Overcoming Challenges as a Member of the Management Team
We solve critical challenges for our investee companies as a committed partner--whether a lack of a concrete DX roadmap, a shortage of specialized talent, or the stagnation of projects at the operational level.
STRENGTHS
Three Pillars of Integral's DX Support
-
01
DX Strategy Formulation Rooted
in Management Reform ExperienceThe success of DX hinges on its alignment with management strategy. Drawing on our extensive experience in leading corporate transformations, rather than making tool implementation the starting point, we revisit the fundamental question: "What is the purpose of digitalization?" From there, we select the optimal technologies and support the creation of a roadmap to maximize the return on investment (ROI).
-
02
Hands-on Implementation Support to Overcome Operational Barriers
When DX projects stall due to talent shortages, members of our DX Promotion Office act as Project Managers (PMs) for the investee company. We provide end-to-end support, covering a broad range of tasks from requirements definition to hands-on execution. By "translating" management's vision to the frontline and feeding back frontline concerns to the executives, we foster company-wide buy-in and drive momentum.
-
03
Expert Network and Strategic Curation for Optimal Partnerships
We alleviate the burden of vendor selection for investee companies lacking the time or expertise. From our ecosystem of over 100 external specialists, we rapidly select the optimal partner for our investee companies based on both cost and technology. Our DX Promotion Office members provide the necessary expert oversight to ensure the right partners are selected, maximizing the project's return on investment.
